Le Rouet surf guide

Le Rouet is a surf spot nestled between two cliffs, making it a sheltered area that's useful for surfers on windy days. The beach has a decent size car park nearby, and there are plenty of facilities available, making it convenient for a surf session. However, the consistency here is low, so don’t expect great waves all the time.

The surf here works best when the swell comes from the south, although it can also handle southeast and southwest swells. It’s suitable for surfers looking to tackle swells ranging from about 1 ft (0.3 m) and up. The waves break over uneven reef and can be both left and right, but it's worth noting that the left at Big Rock in Carry can be quite shallow, so take care if you're riding there. The preferred wind direction is Northwest, and it doesn't matter if you're surfing during low, mid, or high tide - the spot caters to all tide heights. This spot is best suited for intermediate surfers looking for a challenge.

While Le Rouet may not have the best crowds, its low consistency means you might find yourself waiting for that killer wave. Just keep an eye on the swell forecast to make the most of your session.
