Lido Garda is a beach break located just north of Anzio. It's known for attracting surfers looking for a decent spot to ride the waves. While it might not be the best surf destination out there, it does have its moments. This area can get crowded, especially since it’s the most consistent break nearby.
The surf here is best with swells coming from the southwest, but it can also handle northwest swells. Ideal swell sizes range from about 1 ft (0.3 m) to larger but don’t expect massive surf. The waves mainly break over sand, providing both left and right rides. For those just starting out, it’s a suitable spot for beginners. Low, mid, and high tides all work fine, but for the best experience, northeast winds are preferable.
Since the area is popular, you'll find several peaks besides the local harbor where you can pick up waves. Keep in mind that during weekends and good surf conditions, it could get a bit crowded. If you're in the area, it's a good option to check out when the conditions align right.
