Mersa Baghush surf guide
Mersa Baghush is a surf spot located in northwest Egypt, known for its variety of breaks. Getting to this place can be tricky, as the roads leading from here to Alexandria are controlled by soldiers involved in smuggling. It's not the easiest spot to reach, but if you manage to get there, it can be worth your while.
The surf here works best with northwest swells, but you can also catch decent waves from the west and north. The spot handles swell sizes starting from about 1 ft (0.3 m) and features both sand and uneven reef breaks. You can expect left and right waves that cater to intermediate surfers. The preferred wind direction is from the south, and you can surf at low, mid, and high tides, which gives you a bit of flexibility with your timing.
While Mersa Baghush may not be as popular as some other spots, it offers a mix of beach breaks that can provide fun sessions, especially with the right swell. Just keep in mind that conditions can vary, so itβs good to check local forecasts before heading out. Enjoy your time on the water!
