Outside surf guide

Outside is a surf spot located near Petrobras Pier, known for its coral reef lefts. The waves here can be decent, especially when the conditions line up right. It’s a place that can handle a variety of swell sizes, typically around 2 feet (0.6 meters) but can take bigger swells when the N or NW directions hit. The environment can be a bit tricky, so it's recommended for surfers with some intermediate skills.

The best conditions for surfing Outside arise with a north swell. You’ll want to look for south winds, as easterly winds will create cross-shore conditions that can get a bit messy. The waves break over live coral, and while this adds to the charm of the spot, it also means you should be cautious. Surfers will find that the waves generally break left, and they can ride them at low, mid, or high tide. It’s a spot that can be fun, but don’t expect it to be pumping all the time.

Additionally, since conditions can change, it's not uncommon for kiters to migrate to this area from nearby Quebramar on days when the wind is right. If you're planning a session, just make sure to check the forecast and be ready for the local vibe. Remember to respect the ocean and fellow surfers while you're out there.
