Paniki Point surf guide

Surf: Heading south down Halmahera's northwestern arm, check out the cultured lefts at Ollie's Island near Asimiro, before finding the channel at Kahatola Island and the incredibly long, cruising walls of Paniki Point that bend through 130ΒΊ and bring you almost back to the peak. Perfect for longboarding and SUP, this wave just keeps refracting around a barely covered reef and you end up surfing in a due north direction. This means offshore is anything from SE to N. Environment: Perfect safe anchorage off the newly built fish cannery and across the bay sits the best freshwater power shower ever, beneath the Kohatola waterfall.
