Paraiso surf guide

Paraiso is a surf spot located in a somewhat remote area, which means you're in for a bit of a trek to get there. This spot is known for its left-hand waves that tend to break over an uneven reef. It’s generally more suited to experienced surfers due to the conditions and the nature of the waves. If you’re planning a trip, remember there’s not much around for miles, so make sure to bring enough supplies.

This place thrives on Northwest swells, but you can also find some rides with West and North swells. It can handle swell sizes of up to 5 feet (about 1.5 meters), but don’t expect consistent waves every day. The best time to hit the water is during high tide with a preferred wind coming from the Southeast. Despite its peak conditions, it’s not the most reliable spot, so keep that in mind when planning your surf days.

Nearby, you’ve got a few other spots like El Rebote, La Antena, and Punta Salinas. Punta Salinas is particularly worth mentioning as the southern headland there blocks most of the bigger South swells, making it another option when conditions get rough at Paraiso. Just know that you'll need some skill to make the most of what Paraiso has to offer.
