Perelle Bay - Left surf guide

Perelle Bay - Left is a surf spot located around Dom Hue islet, well-known for its left-hand waves. The area can get busy when the surf is on, and itโ€™s recommended to park by the slipway to the south of the bay. This spot is exposed and can easily be blown out, so timing your sessions is key to catching good waves.

The surf here typically works best with a northwest swell, but it can also handle swells coming from the southwest and northeast. It breaks over uneven reef, creating long, walling waves that can be mellow at times. However, it gets hectic pretty quickly, especially with a swell size around 4 ft (1.2 meters). The take-off can feel a bit ledgey, which can be tricky for some. This spot is better suited for intermediate surfers, as the rocky and rippy conditions can pose challenges.

For the best experience, aim to surf when the wind is coming from the south and during mid to high tide. While it can be a fun wave to ride, be cautious and aware of your surroundings, as it can be less forgiving than other spots.
