Queiroz surf guide
Queiroz is a surf spot located beneath the sea cliffs, nestled away in a scalloped bay. It’s known for its impressive waves, but getting there can be a bit tricky without a guide. The area has some decent surf, but it’s definitely more suited for experienced surfers looking for something challenging.
The waves at Queiroz start fast and hollow and can provide high-speed walls and barrels that stretch for up to 400 meters. The spot works best with a west swell and can handle sizes starting from 2ft (about 0.6 meters). You’ll want to keep an eye on the tides, as it’s preferable to surf at low to mid tides here. The wave directions are predominantly left, and the break occurs over a mix of boulders and sand. If the wind is blowing from the east, the conditions will be more favorable for a good session.
While Queiroz is not the easiest place to surf, it’s a rewarding spot for those who have the skills. If you're looking for something less intense, you might want to check out Doce Mar beachbreaks located a bit further south, which offer easier waves for all skill levels.
