Racca Point is a surf spot located near the village of Capitana, which sits between Cagliari and Villasimius along the coastal route. This area is known for its beautiful coastline and can be a great destination for surfers looking to catch some waves. To get there, turn right before the little village of Is Mortorius, right in front of a camping area.
The surf at Racca Point is mainly a long, good quality left that wraps around the cliff when the swells come from the southeast. It works best with east or southeast swells and can handle sizes of around 0.6 meters (2 ft). The waves break over an uneven reef, making it a spot best suited for intermediate surfers. You’ll enjoy the waves during low, mid, and high tides, but the preferable wind direction is east.
Keep in mind that the spot can be tricky with shallow rocks and access can get difficult when the waves are pumping. You might also encounter rips and urchins, so be cautious. Sometimes it gets crowded, especially when a good southeast swell hits, so be prepared for that if you decide to head out.
