Surf: The long beach at Regienca is one of the best waves in the state, serving stately lefts with roomy barrels in E-S swells and being perfectly happy with a NE sea breeze. The Boca do Rio rivermouth can line up on big days when the beach is closed-out. Environment: Powerful waves without a clear paddling channel and rips make this spot unsuitable for beginners. Dirty river water and the potential for a few sharks, but no attacks. Regienca is part of a protected sea turtle nesting site.
