Rio Siera surf guide

Rio Siera, also known as Furnas, is a beach break that's well known among local surfers. This spot is fairly consistent and offers decent waves most of the time. It's situated in a pristine setting, which adds to the overall experience. The beach can be quite long, providing ample space to find the right spot to paddle out.

The surf here really shines with a NorthWest swell direction, but it can handle swells coming from the SouthWest as well. You'll find that it works best when the swell is around 3 feet (about 1 meter), and it creates both left and right waves breaking over sand. The tide plays an important role—low tides are optimal, but mid and high tides can also provide good surfing conditions. Just keep in mind that it's usually better around low. To get the best ride, a SouthEast wind is preferred. Overall, this spot is more suited for expert surfers due to the sometimes strong conditions.

Although the beach isn't typically crowded, it's helpful to be aware of strong rips that can develop along the length of it. Knowing this can help you navigate the waters more safely. With the right conditions, Rio Siera can definitely deliver a fun and challenging surf session.
