Same surf guide

Same (Sa-may) is a surf spot that picks up northeast swell quite well and can hold bigger waves compared to its nearby neighbor, Iwaya. Although it has some rocks around the little point that help anchor the sand, it generally turns out to be a pretty average beachbreak. This spot is mostly suitable for beginners looking to catch some waves without too much hassle.

The best swell direction here is from the north, but it can also handle swells from the west and northeast. It works well for swell sizes as small as 1 ft (0.3 m) and breaks over sand, providing a nice, soft landing for surfers. The waves can come in as beach breaks, and you can find both left and right waves depending on the day. When it comes to wind, southeast is the direction you want. Itโ€™s pretty versatile when it comes to tide heights, working well at low, mid, and high tides.

Keep an eye out for some rips and jellyfish during the summer months, but otherwise, itโ€™s a decent spot to practice your skills and enjoy a few mellow sessions.
