San Xorxe surf guide

San Xorxe is a west-facing crescent beach that offers surfers a decent stretch of sand for catching waves. It can get a bit crowded at times, but there's usually enough room to find your spot on the beach. The car park has ample space, so parking shouldn’t be a hassle. There are lifeguards on duty and showers available, making it convenient for a full day of surfing.

The surf here is best for experts, with optimal swell direction coming from the Northwest and other swells from the West and North. The beachbreak handles swell sizes up to about 3 feet (around 0.9 meters). You can expect both lefts and rights along the beach, but the best waves typically break in the southern corner, especially when the tide is low to mid. Surfing is best with a SouthWest wind, which helps keep the waves manageable.

While you might find various peaks along the beach, watch out for rips, as they can pop up. It's a good idea to be aware of the tide levels, as low and mid tides offer the best conditions. Overall, if you are looking for a solid session, San Xorxe is worth checking out. Just know it might take a little effort to navigate the crowd at times.
