Sao Pedro surf guide

Sao Pedro is a surf spot located on the northern part of Guaruja Island. This area is less developed compared to other parts, making it a nice getaway for surfers looking to avoid the busiest crowds. However, it can still get crowded, especially on weekends. The access to the beach is somewhat restricted due to exclusive resorts around, so it's a good idea to plan your visit accordingly.

The surf at Sao Pedro can be quite fun, especially when the swell is solid, with optimal conditions coming from the southeast. You can expect both left and right waves here, making it a versatile choice for intermediate surfers. It handles swell sizes from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and works best at low, mid, and high tide. For wind, northwesterly is preferred, while east or south swell directions also deliver some decent waves. Just remember that if the wind is blowing from the south, you might want to check out nearby spots like Pinheiro and Iporanga instead, as they work better under those conditions.

It's worth noting that the beach breaks here are over sand, which is generally friendly for surfers. Given the conditions, Sao Pedro is a great option if you know your way around the waves, but be prepared for some crowding during peak times.
