Seapalling surf guide

Seapalling is a surf spot located along a series of sandy coves, sheltered by large offshore sea-defence structures. It's a beachbreak that can offer decent surf, especially when conditions are right. The area is quite laid-back, making it a nice spot for surfers looking to catch some waves without the big crowds often found at more popular locations.

The surf here can be fast and sucky, especially in low to mid tide conditions. The spot handles swell sizes starting from around 2ft (0.6 meters) and works best with swell coming from the north and northwest, as well as southeast directions. You can expect waves breaking both left and right over the sandy bottom. For the best experience, aim for a southwesterly wind, as this tends to create cleaner conditions.

There’s plenty of beach to explore, stretching south all the way to Winterton-on-Sea, so if Seapalling is crowded, you can likely find your own space further down. Just keep an eye out for strong longshore currents, especially with easterly swells, which can be a bit tricky. If you're into fishing, this area is also known for good catches, so it's worth bringing your rod along!
