General: Mentionable only because of novelty factor, Shitpipe starts dumping on big winter swells when a hairy left peels off of an old sewer pipe caisson that runs about a mile out to sea. The pipe, located just off of LAX, is visible from Vista del Mar and is no longer in regular use. Tides: low Size: 3 feet overhead and up Wind: E, SE, ENE Swell: WSW, W, WNW Bottom: Cement/barnacle/sand Paddling: Doesn't work until it's a few feet overhead, which guarantees you'll be working. Spot Rating: Decently lined-up left in the right swell conditions.
