Sub surf guide

Sub is a surf spot that caters to different levels of surfers but isn't always the most reliable choice. Located at a rocky area known as RockLedge, it offers a unique setting for those looking to catch some waves. The vibe around here is pretty chill, but it can get crowded when conditions are right, so keep that in mind if you decide to head out.

The waves here generally work best with swells coming from the South and Northwest. You can expect the surf to hold up well at sizes around 3 feet (about 0.9 meters), which is manageable for most surfers. The waves break over the reef, producing both left and right-hand waves. If you want to optimize your session, aim to surf when the wind is coming from the East and hit it during low tide for the best conditions.

Besides the surf, there's not a whole lot going on at Sub, so it's a good idea to bring your own supplies and gear. Since it's a somewhat rocky area, wear reef shoes if you're sensitive to the terrain. Make sure to check the local surf forecast before you go, as conditions can change pretty quickly.
