Overview
Tenby South Beach is a sand-bottomed beach break that peels both left and right. It sits in deep shelter, and when it comes together the wave turns fast and hollow.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from south through west, with southwest swell the best match. This is a winter wave that relies on its sheltered setup to fire. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Expect a crowded lineup when it's on.
Access
Park in the car park above the beach. Restrooms and a surf shop are on hand, with full facilities in town.
