The Perfect Wave surf guide

The Perfect Wave is located on the south coast and is known for being one of the area's better reefbreaks. This spot offers a unique surfing experience, especially when the conditions align just right. Keep in mind that the access involves navigating through some rocks, so be careful when making your way to the water. You can park at Annestown beach, which is where you'll find the trail leading to the surf.

The waves at The Perfect Wave are a sucky and hollow left that works best with a southwest swell and is ideally suited for those with expert-level skills. It can handle swell sizes around 3ft (approximately 0.9 meters) and prefers low to mid tide for the best results. When the wind is coming from the northeast, the waves tend to shape up better, especially with a southwest swell direction. There's also a possibility of some action with southeast swells coming in, but the southwest direction is the sweet spot.

While this spot can be great, it's essential to remember to stay alert due to the uneven reef layout which can make for tricky conditions. Always be mindful of the tides and swell direction to maximize your surfing experience at The Perfect Wave.
