Topsail Beach surf guide

Surf: General: The southern beach on Topsail Island, Topsail's best break is Jolly Roger Pier, and it's horribly inconsistent. Tides: Low to mid tide Size: Chest high-overhead Wind: Northwest Swell: S, SE Bottom: Sand Paddling: Normally not too bad. Spot Rating: Another stretch of beach that has its moments, there just aren't a ton of them. Access: Easy, plenty of lots. Crowds: Crowd Factor: Not too bad. Local Vibe: Not too bad. Environment: Normally OK but with enough rain or a hurricane it can get pretty bad. Hazards: The sea lice are notoriously bad here. Try aloe after-sunburn lotion to kill the buggers. Season: Storm dependent: tropical cyclones in the late summer and fall with frontal activity from late fall through winter into spring.
