Vineta Point surf guide

Vineta Point is a surf spot known for its left and occasional right-hand waves that break in front of a rock groyne. This spot works best at mid to high tide, making it a location to consider during those tide times. The environment here is consistent, and you can usually find some rideable waves even when conditions are onshore.

The waves at Vineta Point break over an uneven reef, which means the take-off can be a bit tricky. The optimal swell direction is from the southwest, but it can also handle swells coming from the south and west. You'll find it works well with swell sizes starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and can offer a nice, bowly take-off with some chances for barrels. Keep in mind that this spot is more suited for expert surfers, so it’s not the best choice for beginners.

Most of the time, it’s recommended to look for winds coming from the east for the best conditions. If you’re an experienced surfer looking for a challenge, Vineta Point can deliver some solid sessions. Just be prepared for the nature of the reef and keep an eye on the tide!
