Wells Beach surf guide
Surf: Tidy, all tides beachbreak peaks similar to Moody or Main Beach to the south. Usually a bit smaller and cleaner. Mid incoming and a NW wind is the best bet.
Access: Free in winter only
Environment: High consistency, rarely crowded, a few rips, no pollution, and pay parking.
Surf: General: Wells Beach, from Mile Road north to the Harbor Jetty, just east of the town of Wells, is a quality strip of coast offering fun peaks for surfers of all abilities. Due to the fact that it faces a little more south than nearby Ogunquit, a S swell can show more here and the waves can handle a hint of northerly wind. Some locals consistently surf the south side of the jetty, but if you're looking for a peak all to yourself, just take that walk south. During a good swell, especially during a hurricane, Wells can pump out fun, hollow surf.
Tides: Incoming
Size: Head high-couple feet overhead
Wind: WNW
Swell: SE
Bottom: Sand
Paddling: Pretty mellow in the summer but much worse in the winter when cold water and air necessitate full winter gear.
Spot Rating: Can be fun with the right combination of swell, wind and tide.

Local Vibe: Mellow.
Environment: Pretty good.
