90 Mile Beach surf guide
Surf: 90 Mile Beach, one of longest virgin beaches on earth, yet it is marked as National Highway at low tide! Beware of soft sand and incoming tides - a 4WD is crucial and many get stuck. Small peaky swells with NE winds will create good conditions, especially at The Bluff, the only headland about two-thirds of the way up.
Directions: low tide 4WD
Environment: There is road access from Te Kao and a rudimentary campsite. It's a blown-out, swell pounded mess most of the time.
