Surf: Many surfers check Henderson Bay, a reliable beachbreak with scattered reef forming tubular & sucky rides on both inside and outside bars. Directions: From Kaitaia travel north on State Highway 1 Far North Road, just past Houhora Harbour, and turn right onto Henderson Bay Road. Continue on Henderson Bay Road to the beach. Environment: Sucks in more swell than the white-as-snow sandbars to the north along Rarawa Beach and there’s rivermouth sandbar at Houhora Heads. N, NE or E swells should show somewhere on the Karikari Peninsula with Puheke and Tokerau good for wind and size options.
