Arish surf guide

Arish is located about 60km north of Dakhla, in a small fishing village called Tarf Entayreft or Uad el Cabiat. This area features the typical sight of colorful blue fishing boats lining the beach, giving it a unique charm. The surf spot itself is named Arish, where you can find rights that roll for nearly 500 meters under the protective shadow of tall cliffs. It’s a laid-back place that has its appeal, although the local environment may not be the most pristine.

The surf at Arish can be pretty fun, especially if you're a beginner. The waves generally break over sand, and you might find them peeling nicely to the right. When the swell comes from the Northwest or Southwest, Arish can handle sizes as small as 1ft (0.3m), making it accessible for many skill levels. The first section of the surf gets a bit more exposed, but it's manageable with an easy paddle between the rocks during low to mid tide. At high tide, you might notice the waves getting a bit fatter but still fun, making it a good place for all kinds of surfcraft and abilities. Just keep in mind that bigger swells can make the drops and rip a bit more challenging.

The best time to catch waves at Arish is when the wind is coming from the east, and it works well on low, mid, or even high tides. Make sure to check the surf forecast for those Northwest and Southwest swells to get the best experience.
