Surf: The east coast, aka the Pirate Coast gets S-SW monsoon swells in summer. A favourite with Dubai surfers and wind crew, Asilah has beachbreaks and a sheltered right break at the rivermouth, but the highlight is Joe’s Point, a long, right pointbreak that needs bigger swells to wrap around the rocks. Environment: Gets really windy and strong rips parallel the beach heading north. Camping on the beach is easy.
