Surf: In the northern corner of this bay is a hectic right, unimaginatively named Backdoors, simply because it shares the same barrelling ferocity of its Hawaiian namesake. The peak is difficult to read, which may explain its lower popularity with the locals, making this a good choice for the traveller who craves top to bottom right barrels over a sharp shallow reef near deep water below cliffs - get the picture? N-E winds and a wide swell window but S-SW best. Environment: Tube-masters only.
