Surf: Bird Rock is a short, sucky, right reef, revered by the dedicated locals that dominate the tiny take-off zone. It jacks up quickly and rifles off fast so only the skilled will get a wave off the pack that is guaranteed when a clean, moderate SW swell hits this submerged finger of rock shelf. Mid tide is definitely the best time to get shacked and any N wind will do. Environment: Head to the other reefs if you are not a shredder. Parking on the overlooking cliffs at the W end of Jan Juc.
