Brighton West Pier surf guide

Surf: General: Long, rolling, waves that are popular with longboarders, form close to the remnants of the burnt out West Pier. Better on lower tides, usually onshore, this is a cruisy spot. Most locals head elsewhere when a proper swell kicks in. Tides: Low to mid. Size: Waist to head high. Wind: N Swell: E windswells, SW groundswells Bottom: Sand. Paddling: OK when small, long paddle when bigger. Spot Rating: Go with the right mindset and it'll be fun. Access: Parking is pretty limited unless you can snag one of the few Beachfront bays. Crowds: Crowd Factor: If its breaking OK, it won't be quiet. Local Vibe: Pretty chilled. Environment: Not amazing. Hazards: Rips, debris around pier. Season: September - February are best when the big swells roll into the Channel.
