More about Cable Station Reef surfspot

Because of the lack of waves and density of surfers, Cottesloe City Council voted in 2000, to build the 1st artificial surfing reef at Cable Station in Mosman Park, 500m offshore. An underwater canyon funnels more swell energy towards "Artos", but it is still a low frequency spot, needing a big NW swell to get going. When it's on, the peak can be damn good, but it will be super-crowded.

If there are sharks in waist deep water at Cottesloe, there are definitely some out here. Inside at Mosman there can de some right shories amongst the rocks and sand in front of the large car parks.
