General: A small, stunning island that fronts Sapelo Island, Cabretta features a beachbreak out in front of the campground. It also has a long sandspit point that offers longer than average lefts on east or northeast swells. The sandspit is best on low to mid-tide. The beachbreak is best at high tide and works on all swells. Tides: mid to high Size: knee-head high Wind: W, NW Swell: NE, E, SE Bottom: Sand Paddling: Hard NE and SW winds can produce strong currents, but generally pretty mellow. Spot Rating: Can offer a fun little wave on its day, but overall not a surf destination.
