Cabrillo Point surf guide

Cabrillo Point is a surf spot located in San Pedro, accessible via Pacific Avenue. It's a right-hand point break that works best with swells coming from the south. This spot can handle a range of swell sizes, starting from about 2 feet (0.6 meters) and can deliver some decent rides when conditions align.

The waves at Cabrillo Point are known for being able to provide long rides, especially during large south swells. Depending on the tide, the waves can either be fast or a bit more relaxed. The preferred tide heights for the best surfing experience are low, mid, and high. For those riding here, having intermediate skills will come in handy, as the waves break over boulders and typically roll to the right. Winds from the north are ideal, helping to keep the surf in good shape.

If you're heading out to Cabrillo Point, be aware that the spot can really turn on with the right conditions. It's worth checking the swell direction and size before you go, as the best days are when the south swell is strong. The location can get crowded at times, especially when the waves are good, so plan accordingly.
