Caille Dehors is a surf spot that is known for its challenging waves and unique setup. It's located on a reef that can produce some decent swells, but it's not a place for beginners. The spot is mainly suited for expert surfers looking for a thrill, especially when the swell is pumping.
The surf here works best with a NorthEast swell direction, but it can also handle swells coming from the North and East. When the waves are around 4ft (about 1.2 meters), that's usually when you’ll find the best rides. The waves break over an uneven reef and tend to favor a right direction, which allows for more turns as they bend a bit on the inside. However, when the wave height picks up and goes into double figures, things can get pretty shifty, making it a real challenge.
The preferred wind direction is from the South, and it’s worth checking the tide as Caille Dehors can handle low, mid, and high tide pretty well. Just keep in mind that this spot is definitely for advanced surfers only, so be prepared for some serious conditions if you decide to take it on.
