Casa Grande surf guide

Casa Grande is a surf spot located just a 3-minute drive or a 10-minute walk from Hotel Mendihuaca. It's a beach break that delivers varying wave conditions, making it an interesting place for surfers. Depending on the state of the bank, you'll find waves that can either tube or close-out.

This spot works best with a swell coming from the NorthEast but can handle NorthWest swells as well. Surfable wave sizes range from about 2ft (0.6m) and up. The waves break over sand and offer both left and right rides. The best conditions are found with a south wind and during low to mid or high tides. Intermediate surfers will feel at home here, but it can challenge those who are just getting started.

If the mouth of the Rio Mendihuaca is open, keep an eye out for some longer left rides coming through. This can be a nice bonus for those looking for more length in their sessions.
