Surf: At Chokusen, the reef hugs a headland, giving it pointbreak length of ride with powerful walls and occasional cover-ups. Needs size to get going, so any strong E swell with S to W winds. Environment: Gets a crowd as the easy parking above the break makes life easy but there is a left deep in the bay on typhoon conditions that may lure the goofies away.
