Surf: Directly across the Baie des Tortues the fringe of coral holds a decent right at Gouaro, but don’t think about paddling the 2km there, especially since the rivermouth attracts sharks. It's a fun, consistent right and less threatening than the outer reef waves, working in most swell directions. Also inside the Bourail Pass is a left and another right offering big swell options. Environment: Sometimes a weekend crowd as locals join the Nekweta Surf Camp visitors just a short hop across the bay.
