Surf: There is only one paddle accessible spot on the island near Bourail, at Nera rivermouth in the southern corner of Roche Percée beach. Stronger SW swells will punch up the wide estuary and break left over shifting sandbars on the outside before reforming and hitting the inside shoredump. Usually soft and forgiving, perfect for beginners and SUP, until high tide makes it close-out on the beach. Environment: Gets quite busy at weekends, but it’s a relaxed, family scene.
