Hollyoake surf guide

Surf: An E or NE swell will produce long punchy lefts, which are hollow on take-off and in sections down the line. S or SE closes out. Low incoming tide is best. A strong north-to-south drift means a constant paddle to stay on the tight take-off area. Entering on the north side of the jetty and walking back up after a wave helps to spread the concentrated crowd of dialed-in locals. Environment: Limited residential roadside parking, which the police patrol heavily. Tags loosely enforced by lenient lifeguards who surf.
