Kirakira is a small surf town known for its laid-back vibe and black sand beach. It's a great spot to rent a boat, stock up on supplies, and maybe catch some waves. The beach breaks near the rivermouth are usually pretty average, so don’t expect anything too crazy, but it's a nice place to hang out and enjoy some surfing.
The surf here mainly picks up swells from the NorthEast and SouthEast, and it handles sizes around 2ft (0.6 meters). The waves break over sand, and you can catch both lefts and rights. The best conditions occur with a SouthWest wind, and the tides are pretty flexible, as you can surf during low, mid, or high tide. It’s a good spot for beginners who are just getting the hang of things.
Keep in mind, Kirakira can be a bit spotty when it comes to good waves, so it's not the ultimate surf destination. However, it offers a chill atmosphere and is a decent place for novice surfers to practice without too much hassle.
