Overview
Koodhoo is a left-hand reef break in Gaafu Alifu, part of the North Huvadhoo Atoll in the Maldives. It's one of a scattering of quality waves in this stretch of the atolls, peeling left over dead coral.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from southwest through southeast (SW-SE) and is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind. Koodhoo can break through most of the tide, low, mid, or high, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Access
The wave is usually surfed from boats running to and from Malé. It's an idyllic, remote spot deep in the doldrums, though the sea can turn rough, especially crossing the one and a half degree channel.
