Lawrencetown Left Point is located at Lawrencetown Beach, which is known for its long stretch of sand. The beach is about a mile (1.6 km) in length and faces south. While the beach itself can serve up some mediocre beach peaks, the Left Point is where the real action is, but it doesn't break like that very often. You'll find that it can really shine around 5-10 days a year when the conditions align just right.
This spot tends to work best with southeast swell direction, but it can also handle swells coming from the northeast and southwest. It’s capable of processing swell sizes around 4 ft (1.2 m) and produces left-breaking waves that come off an uneven reef. When conditions are perfect, surfers can expect some heavy, tubular waves breaking close to the rocks, creating a pretty intense experience.
For the best results, you’ll want to target low to mid tides and prefer wind coming from the northwest. Keep in mind that this place can be unforgiving, so make sure you're prepared for the conditions. It’s not for everyone, but if you catch it on a good day, it’s worth the effort.
