Les Culs Nuls surf guide

Les Culs Nuls is a long stretch of golden sand that is often considered a solid beachbreak. It's located in a crowded area, attracting both local surfers and visitors. The vibe here can vary, so it's best to approach with respect, especially if you’re not familiar with the locals. Access is pretty straightforward with a parking lot nearby and trails through the dunes; just be careful to stick to the paths to protect the fragile ecosystem.

The surf here can range from head-high (about 1.5 meters) to double overhead (around 3.5 meters). It works best with swells coming from the west or northwest, and it can handle sizes from 1.5 meters up to 3.5 meters. The waves break over sand and can be both lefts and rights, making it a versatile spot for different surfing styles. Ideal conditions usually happen on medium low tides with winds from the east or east-southeast. Be aware, though, that when it’s pumping, paddling out can be quite a workout, so be prepared for a tough session.

The crowd can be pretty big, so don’t be surprised if you’re sharing the waves with a lot of other surfers. Despite the number of people, the sheer size of the beachbreak helps to keep things manageable to some extent. It's a spot that’s considered good for intermediate and expert surfers, especially during the prime seasons of autumn and winter when conditions are more favorable for quality surf.
