Norrie Park is a right-hand reef break on the east coast, peeling over live coral. The reef sits closer to shore here, so the paddle out is short.
When It Works
Most of the time the trades shred this coast to pieces, but on the rare slack-wind day one of the little scallops in the reef like Norrie Park can hold a decent right. It draws swell from northeast through southeast, with southeast (SE) the best match, and is usable from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. It tends to be somewhat inconsistent, so you need the right window for it to line up.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind to groom it. The wave comes in through mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave, so it rewards confident surfers who know how to handle a coral reef. The lineup stays fairly quiet when it works.
