Surf: The long, beautiful beach of Opoutama has more mellow easy rollers for beginners and loggers. Directions: From Napier, head north on Pandora Road State Highway 2, onto Meeanee Quay and Main North Road out of the city. Continue on State Highway 2 through Wairoa, then at Nuhaka go straight through the roundabout onto Nuhaka Opoutama Road. Continue along Nuhaka Opoutama Road, turn right onto Ormond Drive, around to the water front and find a good peak down the beach. Environment: All facilities and campground at the northern end.
