Overview
P-Land is a fast, tubing left that wraps around the southwestern tip of Silva de Afuera, an island roughly a 30-minute boat ride offshore from the Morro Negrito surf camp near Remedios. It peaks on a tabletop reef that throws hollow sections and pinching shoulders in equal measure. Further along the same reef, a mushier break called Leftovers offers a mellower alternative.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from south through southwest, with southwest swell the best match. It tends to run bigger than the surrounding spots and is usable from 1.5 m / 5 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft. Waves here are consistent, so surfable days come around fairly often.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind. It breaks best on higher water, working through mid and high tide, with a rising tide the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate wave, and the tight take-off zone doesn't leave much room to share. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on, since it's the go-to break for the surf camp and usually has someone out when it's working.
Access
Camping is available at the surf camp, and parking is restricted.
