Surf: Variable quality beachbreak that usually offers good beginner/improver waves over the flat sands at higher tides, but might hide more challenging rides towards the rivermouths at either end. Environment: Strong currents and maybe worse near the rivermouths. Restaurants, cabins, even a few board rental shacks cater to the weekend crowds. Rent a boat and search the Boca Chica area for beach, reef and rivermouth options.
