Peninsula Left surf guide

Peninsula Left is located about 30km (18mi) south of Ngapali. It’s a bit tricky to access since it's off limits and definitely hard to reach without a boat. You can spot it on Google Earth, but getting there for a surf session requires some planning and exploration.

The surf at Peninsula Left is generally suited for beginners. It works best with a southwest swell, but it can handle swells coming from the south and west as well. The spot typically handles swell sizes around 2ft (0.6m). Waves break over uneven reef and sand, with a nice left point break that can be enjoyable. For the best results, east winds are preferred, and the tide can be low, mid, or high—basically, it’s pretty versatile in that regard.

While it may not be the easiest spot to get to, for those willing to venture out, it offers a unique surf experience. Since it’s off the beaten path, it can be a cool choice for those looking to escape the crowds and find some solitude while surfing.
