Playa del Socorro surf guide
Surf: This NW-facing, rocky beachbreak sucks up any N swell and holds good size. Powerful and a gruelling paddle when bigger coupled with strong rips. E winds are OK as there are high cliffs behind the beach.
Environment: Sometimes crowded in summer but waves break all year round. Easy parking on the beachfront.
Surf: General: This dark, sand and rock beach can have mellow fun peaks when small, but when the swell picks up, it shows its angrier, less forgiving side with powerful and hollow rights and lefts and a tricky entry and exit over rocks. Works through the tides but best at mid - watch out for rips when the size gets over head high. Pretty consistent as it picks up swell from N to W and can tolerate the E tradewinds.
Tides: All tides - best at mid.
