Surf: Rapidly accessed from Guatemala City, Puerto San Jose is Guatemala’s most important seaside resort and as such, is the most surfed beach in the country. The grubby beach sees average, all tide peaks break beside the derelict pier. The jetty to the east is rarely any better. Environment: Rips, some residential pollution and weekend warriors make this place less appealing. Rip-offs fairly common as well.
