Reanough is a surf spot located on the other side of the bay from Ballydavid. It's known for its beachbreak, which can be workable under the right conditions. This spot is best accessed by parking behind the beach, making it pretty easy for surfers to get to the water.
The surf at Reanough is pretty versatile. It handles swell sizes starting from around 0.6 meters (2 feet) and works best with a straight North swell. You can catch both left and right waves here, and on the east end, there’s a righthand reef that comes alive at high tide. Although the waves tend to have a beach break over sand, the spot does benefit from a SouthWest wind, which helps create cleaner conditions. You can also surf it during low, mid, and high tide, giving you some flexibility in your session timing.
Remember that the conditions can vary, so it’s a good idea to check the local forecast before heading out. The vibe at Reanough is generally laid-back, and with its decent waves, it attracts surfers looking for a casual day on the water.
